The show was awesome! I love Mesa Amp. I was dancing a lot, even though we were on a hill. There were many times when Neenie and I just got a Rockettes chorus line going at skankin speed. There was a bit of a security line, unless you didnt have any boys with you. Apparently, theres not a lot of girls that like Primus. Gogol Bordello was so freakin fun. Tom: "Ive never seen anyone hi-step while playing a big bass drum" There were violins, accordians, big symbols and much silliness. Which fits right in with Primus. Neenie said it was a better show than the last few times she has seen them (Primus). I felt like they noodled on each song a bit too much and coulda fit Tommy the Cat in but otherwise, dead on kick ass Primus show. Like always, there were masks. A piggy mask, Darth Vader mask and a pith helmet. Two big Astronaut blow ups behind the band and some cheese LEDs. When it was time for encore, there were ACTUAL lighters all over the crowd. I remembered I have my new piggy flashlight key chain so he oinked and light up along with the lighters. :) I did wish they woulda did little covers like they usually do or maybe treated us with Robot Chicken or SouthPark but that was just me bein silly. They didnt have any t-shirts I NEEEDED but we might buy the Gogol CDs off their web site. Jeffies friend Xavier went even though he didnt really know Primus. Hes always fun. Him and Jeffie do a vague Jerky Boys impression when they are together. Plus, Tommy bought this cool laser (less powerful than Ryans, but a bit more legal) and impressed the kids by bouncin it off buildings miles away.
After, we tried to hit that sports bar near the Marriott since Jeffie was hungry but we just missed their kitchen time. We all had some drinks and chatted anyway. I ran into a high school friends husband and chatted with him for a while. Hes a year younger but man, he looks older. Thats what kids do to ya. Then we headed over to Carlsbad Tavern. Me and Neenie had Prickly Pear Flan (YUM!) and some chicken-shrimp-beef kabobs. They were tasty, with the black beans and rice but Im glad I had the flan because the "dipping" sauce was too spicey for me. Flan cooled off my poor little tongue.
Today, Im makin cookies with Neenie at my Moms. Hopefully, she wont want to talk about Dad too much. She promised she would keep that to her counselor.
